On June 23, 2014 we held a graduation ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of the 34 participants who completed the project and their community who supported them and advised the project. The ceremony included poetry on the subjects of education and peaceful cohabitation composed and read by camp poet Sidi Ham, which are also written in 5 different languages on the murals,  a speech by UNHCR Head of Office for the Sahel region Marie Louise Kabre Barreto, and prizes and awards to the participants for best attendance, homework, and all around contributions to the project.  Camp president Mohamed Samba Kamara, who spoke at the ceremony said that he feared that these youth participants coming from a rural background and many without formal education would not be able to accomplish the goals of the project, yet they clearly had and he was pleasantly surprised and proud of their accomplishments.  It was an exciting event, and wonderful to honor the great work of the 34 participants!
